Not on Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond

Wednesday 9 May 2007
8:00 PM
123 Sciences Lecture Hall
Hutchison Drive, UC Davis campus

John Prendergast, a former Clinton administration official and senior advisor for the nonprofit
International Crisis Group, comes to UC Davis to talk about one of the gravest human rights
crises in history: the genocide taking place in Darfur and what needs to be done to help end the
crisis.

One of the leaders of the ENOUGH campaign and a leading American human rights activist, he is
focused on bringing international attention to the genocide in Sudan and the atrocities of the
Lord's Resistance Army in Northern Uganda.

Previously at the White House and State Department, under President Clinton, Prendergast was
involved in a number of peace processes throughout Africa. He has also worked for members of
Congress, the United Nations, human rights organizations, and think tanks. He has authored
eight books on Africa, the latest of which he co-authored with actor/activist Don Cheadle,
entitled "Not on Our Watch"

Prendergast travels regularly to Africa's war zones on fact-finding missions, peace-making
initiatives, and awareness-raising trips involving network news programs, celebrities, and
politicians.

Come to hear him speak about Darfur, activism, and his new book Not on Our Watch: The
Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond. A q&a and book signing will follow the talk.
Books will be available for purchase at $13. A portion of the proceeds from booksales is being
donated to ENOUGH, the project to abolish genocide and mass atrocities.

Don't miss an opportunity to hear this powerful and inspiring human rights activist at UC Davis.

THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL
