Purpose

The purpose of the Campus Center for the Environment (CCE) is to increase the visibility, capacity, and effectiveness of individuals and groups engaged in activities to improve environmental education, awareness, ecological health, and environmental justice at UC Davis. The CCE will fill existing needs for a central space and forum for collaboration to increase campus engagement in these efforts.

As a student-run organization, the Campus Center for the Environment will cultivate environmental leadership and consciousness within the UC Davis community.  It will assist efforts to improve the environmental health and performance of UC Davis through CCE projects, supporting existing groups and organizations, and engaging the campus community in current issues of ecological sustainability and environmental justice.

The CCE will serve the campus community by providing a lasting foundation for environmental leadership. It will provide resources such as funding, physical space, information, and supplies to individuals, groups and departments or other campus programs. It will assist individuals and groups by facilitating communication, collaboration, and networking. It will support efforts to engage the campus through outreach and education.

The CCE's main goals include:
•    Promoting inter-group collaboration and sharing of knowledge.
•    Providing a legacy for groups to maintain self history.
