Have a question about CCE, got an idea for a sustainable project on campus, or just wanna chat about how awful bananas are? Stop by the EcoHub Tuesdays 12-2pm or MW 2-3pm or shoot me an email at email@example.com
Mia Kawamoto // Piles Director
I am a third year Environmental Science and Management major emphasizing in soils and biogeochemistry! I love being in nature, playing tennis, having movie nights, and of course- compost! I’m very excited to maintain Project Compost’s Windrows Pile and spread knowledge about sustainability and composting. Come meet me in the EcoHub Mondays or Wednesdays from 11am-12pm to talk about compost, any ideas or questions you have, or even about how your day has been!
Emily Horowitz // Education and Outreach Director
I am a fourth year Sustainable Environmental Design major, Community and Regional Development minor, from Redondo Beach, California. I love my position as Education and Outreach Director because I get to spread environmental love and knowledge! I also work at farmers markets on the weekend and am a DJ at KDVS, the campus radio station. I’m at the EcoHub Monday and Wednesday 4-5 if you want to talk sustainability, music, or other fun things!
Lucas is the name, vermicomposting is the game. It is actually not a game to me, I take it very seriously. I came from Virginia Beach to San Diego and have now arrived here in Davis, and I’m loving it! I am a second year Animal Science major, soon to be Wildlife and Fish Conservation major who loves the performing arts and animals of all sizes and shapes, including worms! CCE is always looking for ways to reduce waste on campus and I have found no better, cooler, or more entertaining way to do it than by using worms to compost. This year we will be sure to have educational opportunities about this really awesome process throughout the year so if you are interested in being an audience member or even a presenter please keep an eye out. If you would like to know more or come play with the wriggly lil’ ones please visit the EcoHub for my office hours Tuesday and Thursday 11-12. Go Ags!
Hi there! I’m a fourth year here at Davis, majoring in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. I transferred here from Los Angeles after completing 3 years of community college. A few things that I love include hiking, dogs, cooking, eating, and of course gardening. I am super excited to be an active part of CCE staff this year! I am passionate about promoting gardening space, food accessibility, and food security to students here on campus and would love to collaborate with you and your friends! If you want to chat, share ideas, ask questions, find out about gardening opportunities, etc., come hang out with me during my office hours at the EcoHub, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 2-3!
Sarah “Scottie” Scott // Graphic Design Coordinator
Greetings! I am a first year Environmental Science and Management major. It has been an amazing journey getting to know the campus and the Aggie community. In what little spare time I have, I like to paint, read, write, and design. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit me during my office hours on Thursday from 1-2 and on Friday from 11-12 if you want to talk about design, the environment, or life, the universe, and everything.
Hey, what’s up, hello! My name is Martha and I am super stoked to be involved with Campus Center for the Environment, posting pictures, tweeting updates, and sharing fun opportunities to get all the environmentally aware party peeps on campus pumped up about CCE! I am a Communication major and Community Regional Development minor who transferred from the University of Southern California. While it was a great school, it just wasn’t green enough for me and coming to Davis has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! In my spare time I do lots of yoga, dance around my room and go on nice walks. If you want to join me in any of this, or talk about social media and how we can use it as a tool to improve sustainability and environmental awareness on campus, come to my office hours Monday or Wednesday 3-4 or shoot me an email at email@example.com!
